SAM Process Maturity Assessment

SAM Process Maturity Assessment

The SAM Charter SPMA is designed for organisations to get a taste of SAM maturity. Processes rarely sit in silos, so it’s important to recognise their role in a SAM/ITAM framework. By adding your name and email address in the boxes below, an email will be sent to kick-start the assessment process. Once completed, this assessment will send you an 8-page report—for free!

What’s so important about processes?

Many organisations fall into the trap of buying a SAM tool to make SAM go away. Consequently, vast amounts of capital are spent generating the ELP for the vendor that just stung them in an audit. And so, this confirms that the IT estate hasn’t matured since the original ELP they had to settle on.

Processes are the means by which IT estate data can be gauged for quality and overall SAM maturity. For example, a KPI against your software request process could be the time taken to honour the request. However, from a SAM perspective, a great KPI would be the cost or quantity of software requests honoured by the licence pool in the last 30 days. The SAM Charter SPMA will serve to highlight how effort and knowledge management are aligned with performance.
